About
Nazim Iqbal is a communication architect and user experience lead. He is a self-taught usability, information architect and user-centric design lead.
During the postgraduate days, he recognized the potential and his passion for the new media. Even though his postgraduate course in Mass Communication didn’t have much of interactive exposure, he pursued his passion personally, grounding his thought process on basic and universal communication principles.
As the dot coms bloomed in the late 90’s, he got his break with a dot com. Even though the company went bust like so many of the dot coms, he survived and moved on carrying with him the experience and the fire that the exposure had ignited. But it was during his stint with ITIL (Calcutta) that he came into his own, working on some of the big brands in the Indian and Asian market as communication strategist, interactive copywriter and content manager.
As the new media expanded its reach, it brought with it a flood of information. Even though Information Architect as a role was still blurred, he took the still undefined role of defining and giving coherency to the information overload. This drive was primarily born out of his singular and self-propelled belief that web is in essence a communication medium and where the user centric strategies will finally reign supreme.
Over the period he has worked on various projects. Now with more than seven years of experience in the new media, he is working with a Delhi based digital solution company as Chief Communication Architect.
He has worked on a number of accounts - Asia Philips, Economic Development Board of Singapore, Wills Lifestyle, Maruti Suzuki, Maruti Baleno, ITC Welcomgroup Hotel, Hotel Radisson, Tupperware India, Nortel Networks, Kwality Walls, Samsung India, Airtel, Hewlett Packard, HCL, Wills Lifestyle, KSA Technopak, Pepsi, Radisson, Clinic ALLclear, Lifebuoy, LG Gulf, Philips Asia and Tata Infotech, Electrlolux, Eicher, Carrier, GSK, Lord Krishna Bank, SKF, National Geography, Century Cinemas, General Motors - as a creative lead, interactive copywriter, brand strategist, user experience guide, mentor, project manager and communication architect. His gamut of experience covers emailer campaign, banner campaign, eBrochures, brand games, concept website, online contest, elearning solutions, multimedia presentation, web design analysis, user-centric design and experienced based kiosks.
He holds a Post Graduate in Mass Communication from the Jadavpur University and have attended workshops on HCI Design & User Study. The other areas of his interest are semiotics, user experience, culture and emotional design.
